Pomegranate Lemon

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 12 oz can
BevNET Review: Compared with the other two flavors, Pomegranate Lemon has a slightly more prominent sweetener flavor. Still, it’s pleasant to drink, with a flavor that is definitely more flavorful and enjoyable than your typical diet CSD. And a diet CSD is really what the closest comparison to this brand is with its positioning and flavor profile. Functionally, the product is enhanced with antioxidants, electrolytes, and vitamins, which, despite the lack of caffeine, adds a slight bite to the flavor that is reminiscent of an energy drink. The visual design of the 12 oz. slim can is appealing and clean for the most part, although the variation iin accent color between the flavors is a bit too subtle (you can’t tell the difference unless you are up close). Positioning is the biggest challenge for this product. It looks like an energy drink and, by calling itself a “sparkling enhanced water,” it appears to be afraid of falling into the soda category. As a result, they’ve made the value proposition too complicated -- making it simple and having a singular focus would help greatly. Overall, the flavor is enjoyable, but we think that Mor needs to refocus things to make the product easier to understand.Reviewed on: 4/24/2012

Raspberry Strawberry

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 12 oz can
BevNET Review: Mor, which calls itself a “sparkling enhanced water,” is a sugar free sparkling beverage with fruit flavoring. In this particular case, the flavor is “Raspberry Strawberry,” which essentially tastes like a raspberry lime rickey flavoring. The use of sucralose as the only sweetener in the beverage is surprising, with a very natural level of sweetness and nearly zero aftertaste. The functional ingredients, which add antioxidants, vitamins, and electrolytes, don’t seem like an overly compelling reason to consume this product (refreshment is, however). While what is inside the can does taste good, the positioning of this product is confusing. Specifically, it looks like an energy drink (and a pretty nicely designed one at that), it tastes like a soda, and it’s marketed as a “sparkling enhanced water” (which isn’t really a category anyway). This presents a variety of issues, but ultimately the question of “what is it?” is the biggest hurdle. A new approach to the packaging might help this if they wish to head more towards the diet CSD category. Alternatively, changing the design so that it feels more like a water product might also work. Overall, this is a very nice tasting product that is visually clean, but it definitely needs help with its positioning. Reviewed on: 4/24/2012

Cranberry

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 oz can
BevNET Review: Being a "beverage for the mind and body," this functional drink is made with antioxidant rich ingredients, electrolytes, and herbal ingredients and is sweetened with sucralose. The cranberry flavor is, for the most part, spot on, providing a nice splash of fruity refreshment accent the light flavor of this carbonated drink. It drinks a lot like a diet CSD, which is fine given that it will be a familiar one for consumers. However, there's a touch of vitamin and herbal flavor to the finish, giving the drink's functionality some credibility. Packaging is clean, but hard to read, with a white backdrop and metallic lettering lacking the contrast required to read it from a distance. In addition, the drink's tagline "beverage for the mind and body" could be misconstrued as an energy drink -- not good for Mor. Overall, we like the flavor and appreciate it's caffeine and sugar free formulation, but they need to improve the way that they sell it on the outside of the can.Reviewed on: 8/8/2008

Pomegranate Lemon

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 oz can
BevNET Review: If you're looking for a drink that's big on pomegranate flavor, you might be disappointed to know that the drink's flavoring tastes more like "berry" than "pomegranate." Still, it's an enjoyable mixture of fruit and lemon flavors, delivering a nice complement to its vitamin and herbal enhanced body. The only room for improvement is the slightly bitter finish left behind from the sucralose. Functionality is based upon a cocktail of herbal and vitamin ingredients, including grape seed extract, milk thistle, ginger, ginkgo, ginseng, acai, B6, B12, selenium, and electrolytes. It sounds good, although it's a lot to digest as a consumer. That being said, our guess is that taste and the lack of sugar/calories are what will pull in drinkers for this brand. Overall, an enjoyable product that is, in our opinion, a nice option when it comes to carbonated functional drinks.Reviewed on: 8/8/2008

Raspberry Strawberry

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 12 oz can
BevNET Review: Raspberry Strawberry was the final flavor of Mor that we sampled. It has relatively accurate fruit flavor, with the vitamins, sweetener, and carbonation being the only impediment to complete enjoyment. The drink has no caffeine or sugar, which makes the drink's claim of being for the "mind and body" a bit easier to swallow -- you won't get the shakes from this drink. Further on that point, the drink's list of functional ingredients is pretty broad to the point where your left to read a rather lengthy list of benefits on the back of the can. A simpler approach -- and perhaps differentiation of functional ingredients between the flavors -- might be more appealing to consumers. Overall, enjoyable flavor and chic appearance, but it needs some improvement when it comes to succinctly articulating the functional benefits.Reviewed on: 8/8/2008
