BevNET Review: Mountain Dew Pitch Black is a novelty drink scheduled to hit stores shelves in late August of 2004. Pitch Black combines grape flavor with Mountain Dew original for a taste that is surprisingly refreshing and a bit more mellow than straight-up Mountain Dew. The near-black color will limit this beverage's mass market potential, but it will undoubtedly generate PR buzz which should prompt consumers to give it a try. We don't see curiousity turning into repeat sales; so Pepsi is definitely doing it right by releasing it for a limited time. Overall, a decent beverage and a creative move for Pepsi.

We want it... we need it!

C'mon PepsiCo! Return to us our beloved Pitch Black. This flavor is the best that has come out yet, despite all the game fuels and recent flavors to vote on. Just bring back Pitch Black and I know that myself and at least 5 of my friends will be absolutely thrilled. Do it... you know you want to!

Pitch Black needs to come back!!!

The reason they got rid of it is cuz they had to mess it up with pitch black 2 which sucked...BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL PITCH BLACK!!! that was definately the best mountain dew ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WANT PITCH BLACK

I called pepsi today and they said there is no Pitch Black this year. I have never seen Pitch Black 2 but I love the original. BRING IT BACK!!!! I am staying away from soda for the most part but I will make an exception for Pitch Black.

I HAVE DISCOVERED SOMETHING

Guys. I was thinking for someone to try this... Mix mountain dew with grape soda. most likely a grape soda that pepsi makes like fanta. Mix them half and half into an empty bottle of dew. maybe even more grape. And then we could have our pitch black back! plz try to make this someone and email me about the results and also post it on this. add enough grape soda to the dew until its the same color. BLACK IS (or could be if this idea works) BACK

bring it back

is there someone who we can talk to about bringing this flavor back? I really like grape soda and mtn dew and those combined is like heaven. Even if I have to go around with a petition and get 10000 signatures I would to it to get pitch black back. I like it better than code red and livewire...and even voltage! BRING IT BACK!!

plz give it a second chance

i love pitch black it is one of the top 3 of the best mtn dews (1st pitch balck 2nd live wire 3rd origional)i use to go through 3 bottles a day then one day i went to the store to buy some and it was gona i was devistated by this so all im asking is for pepsi to please give pitch black a second chance

It's the best grape soda made in 40 years

I have been drinking grape soda as long as I can remember [40 years]. Pitch Black is the best to come along in decades. Far better than the other Grape soda's that came in a glass bottle!! Please give it a second chance.
