BevNET Review: Mr. Q Cucumber is a “sparkling cucumber beverage” that’s sweetened with sugar and packaged in a 7 oz. glass bottle. Designed to taste just like you’ve bitten into a cucumber (a carbonated, sweetened cucumber), the product delivers extremely accurate cucumber flavor that’s surprisingly enjoyable when paired with the carbonation and sweetness. The product is light and crisp, with a balanced feeling in your mouth and a clean finish. From the use of a 7 oz. bottle, we’re guessing that they are trying to position this product for on-premise locations and as a mixer, which seems like a smarter approach then selling it in traditional channels. Then there’s the branding, which, with a name like Mr. Q. Cumber, seems like it should have more of a tongue in cheek style (a la Mr. Peanut) to it as opposed to images of cucumber that are currently on the label. Otherwise, it’s a pretty straightforward package, with minimal text on the paper label. Overall, Mr. Q.
