BevNET Review: As far as light protein drinks go, Muscle Milk's entry is superbly executed. Inside the bottle, you've got 20g of protein, big chocolate flavor, and little sweetener (ace-K and surcralose) aftertaste getting in the way. It's pretty rich in body, but still noticeably lighter than Muscle Milk's flagship chocolate flavor. Packaging is busy, but easy on the eye, although slightly more differentiation between the core brand might be a good thing. Overall, a well executed entry from Muscle Milk.

BevNET Review: Compared with the Chocolate variety, Vanilla Crème has a stronger sweetener aftertaste and less overall flavor. If you're looking for something that's lighter -- or simply are allergic to chocolate -- this might be worth a shot. Otherwise, we'd like to see an improvement to the vanilla flavor in this product -- at least to the point where it masks some of the sweetener and functional ingredients. On the functional front, the drink's primary purpose is protein, of which it has 20g per bottle. In addition to that, there's a plethora of ingredients in this nutritional shake, including Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E, as well as added micronutrients, calcium, and iron. Overall, we're still impartial to the chocolate variety, but Vanilla Crème is a strong second.

BevNET Review: Of the three light flavors, this one needs the most improvement in its flavor. Strawberry, which is a hard flavor to nail in any type of beverage, leaves the drink with a flavor that tastes more like sweetener and "functional" than it does strawberry. If there's any way to increase the strength of the strawberry flavor, we think it would make a huge difference. Otherwise, we like the look of the drink's front panel, including the use of a strawberry graphic and the bright red accent that they've chosen to use. The product's purpose is clear and intuitive, which certainly gives this product the chance to follow in the footsteps of the flagship Muscle Milk brand.
