Apple Raisin Oat

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 9.5 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Of the Naked Fruit Juice & Oat Smoothie flavors that we sampled, the Apple Raisin Oat flavor tastes the most like a traditional oatmeal flavor. Plus, incorporating apple helps the added apple juice not seem out of place or overbearing as it does in the other varieties. The consistency of the product is its most unique aspect, with bits of oats and almonds making for a thick and chunky body. While this isn’t normally a desirable trait, it makes total sense for a product that appears to be all about taking a bowl of oatmeal and putting it into a bottle. Compared with some of the other products that are also doing this, we like Naked’s approach -- it feels like real food in a bottle as opposed to a hidden enhancement on an otherwise standard drink. Visually, the clear glass packaging gives the consumer the ability to view the oats and almonds, which creates a sense of intrigue and helps set the stage for what’s inside the bottle. Otherwise, what they’ve created is clean and whets the appetite. Overall, this is a very innovative (probably one of their most innovative to date) and well executed product from Naked. Blueberry Oat

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 9.5 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Naked’s Blueberry Oat flavored “Fruit Juice & Oat Smoothie” is a thick beverage that literally tastes like drinking a bowl of blueberry flavored oatmeal. Made with 78 percent juice, this product also features apple, banana, lemon, white grape, and red grape juices. As with other Naked products that we’ve sampled, it’s a bit too heavy on the apple, but otherwise the juice combination works well. The consistency of the drink is the most unique part of this product, with visible bits of oats and almonds floating throughout. All in all, it’s a very nice tasting product. And for 9 ounces, this bottle packs a lot in, with 12g of protein, 5g of fiber, and 320 calories. It’s ultimately more of a meal replacement than a smoothie. Visually, the 9 oz. glass bottle is very different from Naked’s standard plastic packaging, which makes it stand out and feel more premium over their flagship line. That said, we definitely question how long this product will stay on the market in its current form. Overall, a very enjoyable and innovative product from Naked.Reviewed on: 3/22/2012
