New Leaf

New Leaf

Manufacturer's Brand Overview [Edit]

It's official: When delicious natural flavors aren't obscured by high fructose corn syrup and artificial ingredients, the tea tastes better! Our founder, Eric Skae, discovered that simple powerful truth during his personal quest to create the world's best-tasting ready-to-drink tea. It's why New Leaf is made with only the most carefully selected real teas, the finest natural flavors and pure, organic cane sugar. It's why we call New Leaf “The Official Beverage of Taste.™”

Black Tea Sweet Tea

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 oz glass bottle
BevNET Review: New Leaf’s attempt to create a classic Sweet Tea variety is a good one, with a smooth base of black tea that’s been sweetened with a heavy hit of organic sugar (it wouldn’t be sweet tea without this). And that’s basically it. The product has only four ingredients, which speaks to how simple and clean this mixture is. That being said, if you like sweet tea, you’ll definitely find this to be right on the money from a flavor point of view. Packaging is similar to the other New Leaf varieties, although they’ve chosen a casual style font for the “Sweet Tea” text. Presumably, this is some sort of ode to the homemade style of the product. That’s fine by us, especially with the bright blue backdrop, both of which make for a label that’s easy to read. It also keeps the product looking different than some of its other sweet tea competitors, who try to reach out to consumers with down-home themes. In this case, we think that New Leaf is probably trying to reach a slightly more value oriented consumer – and one who likes the clean urban feel of the New Leaf brand. Overall, a very enjoyable product from New Leaf.Reviewed on: 9/11/2009

Green Tea with Mango

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 oz bottle
BevNET Review: A Mango flavored green tea is right in the wheelhouse of what the New Leaf brand is all about -- and we were pleasantly surprised to see that they did a great job executing this flavor. Using a mix of brewed green tea, brewed black tea, sugar, and all natural flavors, the drink has a mellow and easy to drink flavor. The black tea helps cut the potentially grassy flavor of the green tea, while the mango flavor and sugar offer a mild dose of sweet to the finish. Bright images of a halved mango give the drink's packaging some appeal, although the "All Natural Mango" should go closer to the "Green Tea" (you're currently forced to scan around the label). Otherwise, this is a very enjoyable flavor that is definitely worth a try.Reviewed on: 9/4/2008

Black Tea Mo-tea-to

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 oz bottle
BevNET Review: For the latest New Leaf variety they've mixed black tea and lime flavor. It seems surprisingly simple and straightforward, leaving us somewhat surprised that we haven't seen this mixture before. The flavor is clean and enjoyable, with a smooth black tea flavor that's followed by a very mellow splash of lime and a crisp cane sugar sweetened finish. It's probably one of New Leaf's best blends to date. We like the simple and attractive look of the bottle, although calling it a "Black Tea Mojito", rather than "Mo-tea-to", would be more intuitive. Overall, a solid entry from New Leaf.Reviewed on: 9/4/2008

White Tea with Strawberry

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) glass
BevNET Review: We were pleasantly surprised by New Leaf's White Tea with Strawberry. As many people in the industry know, strawberry flavors can be somewhat difficult to get right -- and New Leaf has pretty much nailed it. The flavor blends well with the white tea and is then sweetened with organic evaporated cane juice. The flavor is definitely something that is digestible by the mainstream consume, but tea purists might find this product a bit too sweet. With images of strawberries placed on the front of the label, we feel that the overhauled packaging is much more attractive than previous renditions. Overall, a very nice looking and tasting product. White Tea with Honeydew Melon

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: White Tea with Honeydew Melon is one of our favorite flavors of the New Leaf Tea brand. The product has a mellow tea flavor that is nicely complemented with the honeydew flavor. The result is a clean, crisp body that has a nice melon flavored finish. In addition, the level of sweetness in this product is just right -- not too much, not too little. The new label design, which features a photo of an actual melon slice, makes the product feel more natural and appetizing. Definitely an improvement. Reviewed on: 4/30/2007

Green Tea with Plum

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: We'll be honest -- we were not expecting a plum favored beverage to taste good. However, the product does indeed taste good -- the mild plum flavor gives the green tea a nice sweet finish that has a slightly "fuzzy" feeling to it (similar to a peach flavor). We appreciate their use of something different rather than the run of the mill fruit flavors that are typically found in iced tea beverages. The packaging, which uses a proprietary molded bottle, is vibrant and appetizing. Definitely one of the best flavors of the line.Reviewed on: 4/30/2007

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) glass
BevNET Review: White Tea with Tangerine is a solid line extension to the New Leaf brand. Featuring a natural tangerine flavor that is sweetened with organic evaporated cane juice, this flavor is clean, crisp, and refreshing. None of that syrupy stuff found in mainstream teas. Still, New Leaf has managed to create a light white tea body that is formulated with the mainstream consumer in mind. Finally, they've totally revamped the label with colorful images of tangerine pieces. It looks clean and attractive -- and it helps whet the appetite. Overall, a great job by New Leaf.Reviewed on: 4/30/2007

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: Green Tea with Ginseng has a very clean, balanced flavor. The light blend of green tea doesn't have that grassy flavor that is sometimes found in green tea beverages. Instead, the flavors of the green tea and ginseng combine to create a taste that feels somewhat similar to a very light brew of black tea. Plus, they've given it all new packaging, which is much more attractive and polished than the prior version. Overall, this product has come a long way since our first test -- and it finally feels like a complete product.Reviewed on: 4/30/2007

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container:
BevNET Review: New Leaf White Tea with Ginger is a lightly sweetened white tea based beverage that also offers the soothing taste of ginger. The flavor of this beverage is satisfying and refreshing, but would definitely be greatly improved if it used real ginger rather than flavoring. Don't take this the wrong way though -- the flavor of New Leaf's White Tea with Ginger does have good things to offer. We especially like the use of the cane juice and the generally mild level of sweetness in this beverage. Both work quite well with the delicate flavor of the white tea blend.Reviewed on: 3/22/2004

The newly revised packaging is a huge step forward, with a gold yellow hue adding to the overall appeal of the product.
