BevNET Review: Positioned as an appetite-quenching “fiberceutical” drink, Nuvitae features 12.5 grams of soluble fiber as well as a variety of other vitamins and minerals. From a flavor perspective, it will likely be very familiar tasting to most consumers, drinking like a diet lemon-lime CSD. It’s sweetened with sucralose, but there isn’t much in the way of aftertaste, and the level of sweetness is spot on. Functionally, the 12.5 grams of soluble fiber (digestion-resistant maltodextrin) have been paired with vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin A, vitamin D, zinc, chromium, biotin, folate, and more. Aside from helping with appetite and weight, these ingredients are intended to assist with management of cholesterol levels, blood tryglceride levels, blood glucose, and intestinal health. On the outside, the product looks like something that’s putting on the hard sell about being functional, starting with the name, Nuvitae, which sounds like something that belongs on a pharmaceutical product. They’ve made little effort to whet the appetite, which is something that might be an issue in some settings. In any event, it’s not the most appealing looking package. Overall, Nuvitae is a product with marketable functionality, great flavor, and average looking packaging. Reviewed on: 2/8/2011
