BevNET Review: Speaking from a flavor point of view, Ole is about on par with other energy drinks that have tried to improve upon the classic energy drink flavor. In this case, the drink's use of sugar gives it a crisp finish and there's a slightly more pronounced "berry" flavor. Otherwise, you really have to read the nutrition panel -- and do your own research -- to truly understand Ole's point of differentiation. In this case, they're hanging their hat on their "ADX7 technology," which includes adaptogenic herbs to help with stress relief. In addition, the drink has vitamins, amino acids, electrolytes, and energy drink stalwarts caffeine and taurine. Really though, it's about the brand, which relies on the familiarity of the popular stadium chant "ole...ole...ole." It's innocuous, but not something that jumps out at us. The design of the package is clean, but doesn't promote its point of difference. Improving upon that, as well as adding something to make the flavor stand out, are what this drink is probably going to need to succeed in the current market.
