Organic protein beverage maker Orgain announced yesterday the first recipients of its new Grants for Greater Good program, which provides funds to startup brands with health and wellness oriented missions. The three winning startups include kolanut fruit-based energy drink Bissy, non-dairy ice cream maker Hakuna Brands and IncludeHealth, a maker of fitness equipment for the disabled and elderly.
Orgain, creator of the first ready-to-drink organic protein shake and innovator of high-quality and convenient clean nutrition products, announced the six finalists that are in the running to receive a total of $150,000 provided by Orgain’s Grants for Greater Good program.

Butterfly, the private equity group which acquired a majority stake in Orgain in November, is expected to inject new energy and resources into the brand, providing a boost in marketing and a path towards international expansion, along with “fuel to the fire on our innovation,” according to founder Dr. Andrew Abraham.
