Phenom’s Pure Coconut Water is made with coconut water from concentrate that has been reconstituted with added vitamins and electrolytes. It tastes on par with other from concentrate coconut waters, which is to say that it has more saltiness and less sweetness than the not-from-concentrate brands do. That said, it’s definitely a drinkable product, but it’s not the best tasting coconut water out there. Functionally, the product has, in addition to the electrolytes that are naturally found in coconut water, a variety of different vitamins that range from 10 percent (E and various B vitamins) to 100 percent (vitamin C) and five different electrolytes. The formulation definitely performs well as a thirst quencher. Packaging feels rather generic, with a white box and black lettering. It definitely looks like something that was designed to intentionally look like a store brand. However, we do like the 16.9 oz. screw top format – being resealable is a big benefit. Overall, it’s a good entry, but it’s hard to imagine choosing this over some of the other brands on the shelves of GNC.
