BevNET Review: With its mild green apple flavor, pleasing absence of carbonation, memorable name and cool yellow, black, silver and gold can, we’d call the Pimp Juice brand extension PJ Tight the perfect light energy drink -- if only they could do a better job of masking the product's aftertaste. Because that aftertaste really puts a damper on what you’re thinking about when you get most of the way through a sip of this product. First, you’re saying to yourself that this guy, this rapper, this…Nelly, is a genius because he’s eliminated one of the biggest flavor problems most energy drinks have. Then it hits you – the aftertaste, with the medicinal notes that accompany it. And then all you think is, "Whoa Nelly, you were so close!" Improving the bitter finish and aftertaste would bring this product near perfection. Overall, PJ Tight is a worthy extension to the Pimp Juice brand and, given its timeliness as a low-carb product, as well as the absence of the words "Pimp Juice" on the can, we think that this will be a bigger success than the original.
