Pimp Juice, currently available in the Extra Strength Original formula, is a healthy, non-carbonated energy drink possessing a tropical berry flavor. Pimp Juice?s artificial coloring gives it a smooth neon green glow, while its 10 % apple juice content adds a natural sweetness to its taste. Providing 100% of the body?s needed vitamin C, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12, Pimp Juice works to increase the drinker?s energy supply, which in turn enhances mental awareness, stimulates the metabolism, and battles bodily sickness. The latest installment of Pimp Juice is PJ Purple Label, an rather unassuming 16 oz juice based entry. It packs a proprietary blend of acai, pear, and pomegranate juices, as well as grape extract, green tea extract, and yerba mate. Despite all the exotic sounding ingredients, the product has a flavor that's best described as a cross between grape and berry. Speaking of the exotic ingredients, that's also leads us to our biggest question about this drink. Specifically, is the urban styling of Pimp Juice in conflict with a drink that touts its anti-oxidant benefits and premium ingredients? We'd say yes. Then again, it's probably the taste that will make drinkers try this product and come back for more. That being said, we'd like to see them plug the flavor and add a bit more personality to this extension. Otherwise, we think they've got a killer drink.

With its mild green apple flavor, pleasing absence of carbonation, memorable name and cool yellow, black, silver and gold can, we’d call the Pimp Juice brand extension PJ Tight the perfect light energy drink -- if only they could do a better job of masking the product's aftertaste. Because that aftertaste really puts a damper on what you’re thinking about when you get most of the way through a sip of this product. First, you’re saying to yourself that this guy, this rapper, this…Nelly, is a genius because he’s eliminated one of the biggest flavor problems most energy drinks have. Then it hits you – the aftertaste, with the medicinal notes that accompany it. And then all you think is, "Whoa Nelly, you were so close!" Improving the bitter finish and aftertaste would bring this product near perfection. Overall, PJ Tight is a worthy extension to the Pimp Juice brand and, given its timeliness as a low-carb product, as well as the absence of the words "Pimp Juice" on the can, we think that this will be a bigger success than the original.
