BevNET Review: Power Potion is, as the name implies, the energy formulation of the Potion lineup. It’s enhanced with guarana, yerba mate, natural caffeine, and D-Ribose and sweetened with stevia. The resulting mix has 20 calories and a dose of caffeine that's not quantified on the bottle -- but trust us, there’s some definite kick to it. From a flavor perspective, yerba mate, added berry flavor, sugar, and stevia give this product a mellow-but-earthy flavor with a moderate amount of aftertaste. It’'s a bit bitter at the finish, but we think that this approach, as opposed to added sweetener, is probably the right one. Packaging is a 2.5 oz. shot bottle, which is billed as an “herbal remedy” on the front panel. The word “Potion” also catches your eye quickly, although the word “Power” is washed out with its yellowish green background. Since energy is still the function that’s most marketable, that’s something that they'’ll definitely need to change – even if it's as simple as swapping colors with one of the other flavors. Overall, good flavor and function, but the choice of accent color needs improvement for readability purposes.

BevNET Review: Potion’ “Burn” is a variety that'’s formulated to help burn calories through the use of cambogia rind, chromium, green tea extract, guarana, and caffeine. They'’ve given the mixture a light orange flavor, which has been sweetened with 5 grams of sugar. There’'s also a mild herbal note to the finish, adding a bit of depth to what would otherwise probably taste pretty flat. From a functional point of view, it’'s again hard to say if or how well this product works. It’'s also probably going to be pretty hard for a consumer to differentiate between this product'’s smaller format and calorie burning products that come in larger containers. However, their 2.5 oz. shot format is attractive looking, especially with a brighter accent color making the product’s name easy to read. Still, this probably will probably fall behind both Calm and Power in terms of marketability.

BevNET Review: Calm is Potion'’s take on a relaxation shot. Enhanced with a blend of herbal ingredients, including chamomile, lemon balm, lavender, ashwagandha, and L-5 hydroxytryptophan, the product takes a unique approach to its formulation. Flavor comes in the form of a grape flavoring that’s been lightly sweetened with sugar, to the tune of 20 calories and 5 grams of sugar per 2.5 oz. container. While we can’t say that the formulation works, it certainly tastes enjoyable. Packaging is clean and simple, with “herbal remedy” and the brand name taking center stage. Somewhat lost in the shuffle is the word “Calm”, which, between using a lavender color and being placed on one of the bottle'’s ribs, is easy to miss. Otherwise, we like what they’'ve done and hope that they can improve the placement of the product name in future versions. Calling out the flavor (grape), might also be helpful. Still, a very enjoyable product.
