Review: Berry

Posted: Dec 01, 2005 at 12:00 AM (Last Updated: Nov 30, 2005 at 5:51 PM)
This isn’t very good at all – there’s a weak flavor that’s closer to grape than berry, too much high-fructose corn syrup and some kind of citric acid additive that makes this product tingle unpleasantly in your mouth. We know it’s a simple step to combine two hot product categories like sports drinks and energy drinks, but Coke could have done this much more elegantly – it tastes like flu medicine. The packaging has much too much going on and, despite this product’s potential to be a “performance” beverage, there’s very little in the way of nutritional information (including mg of caffeine) that could help one understand what one is ingesting. This is one of the least auspicious product launches from a major beverage company that we’ve seen in quite some time.
