We’ve had a lot of bad tasting vanilla flavored protein drinks in our day (it seems to be a harder flavor to work with than chocolate), but Premier Protein’s Vanilla is definitely an exception. The flavor of this drink is quite enjoyable, with a vanilla flavor that’s restrained but not lacking in flavor. It tastes rich, but isn’t overly thick, with sweetness from ace-k and sucralose. There is some aftertaste to the product, which appears to be from the sweeteners, but it doesn’t hurt the experience too much. Nutritionally, this product has 30g of protein that comes from milk and whey protein, 3g of fat, 160 calories, 2g of sugar, and 24 vitamins and minerals. Visually, the product is definitely appealing, but it doesn’t whet the palate as much as the chocolate flavor. Sure, this might be a matter of preference, but the image on the bottle doesn’t exactly convey the flavor the way that it does on the chocolate flavor (it could be confused with milk being poured). Beyond that, it’s very obvious that it’s a protein drink and we think they’ve done a nice job of putting all the important benefits front and center for the consumer. Overall, Premier Protein’s Vanilla flavor is definitely one of the more enjoyable protein drinks that we’ve had in a while.
