BevNET Review: Black Cherry Pro H2O is a sucralose sweetened beverage that’s enhanced with whey protein. Each bottle has 20 grams of protein and only 90 calories, making it a pretty efficient way to load up on protein. From a flavor perspective, this product is not as good as their sugar sweetened effort (Pro Ade), but it’s still better than most of what’s out there today. The black cherry flavoring is mellow, but distinguishable from the mix, while a bitter note from the protein hits your tongue on the way out. Packaging is a 16.9 oz. PET bottle that utilizes a gradient label, which definitely has less pop than their Pro Ade product. They’ve also chosen not to color the liquid, which will likely reduce the product’s ability to whet the appetite based on visuals alone. Further on that point, it makes it somewhat hard to visually distinguish the two H2O flavors, which utilize very similar color schemes. Still, we do like the look of the product, especially with its clean front panel and large callout to the 20g of protein that’s in each bottle. Overall, this is a likeable product, but some increases in the visual differences between the two flavors would be a big help.Reviewed on: 3/26/2010
