Hop Soda is a unique soda that is made with natural hops extract. While this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen hops in a non-alcoholic beverage, it very well may be the most enjoyable one that we’ve had. For starters, the product tastes very good. It’s made with four ingredients, including water, cane sugar, phosphoric acid, and natural hops extract, which helps it have a clean and straightforward flavor. If you’re a beer drinker, you might be expecting something that’s bitter, but that’s not the case. Instead, Hop Soda is light (it contains 14g of sugar) and floral, with a flavor profile that makes for a nice alternative to the typically fruit flavors used in carbonated beverages. That latter part should help it stand out -- and potentially lure in adult drinkers who might be steering clear of highly sweeteened CSDs. On the outside, we’re big fans of what the company created. For starters, using an 8.4 oz can seems like a great fit for a unique product like this. And the design, much like the liquid inside the can, is simple and straightforward. The name of the product explains exactly what it is, has a nice sound to it, and visually pops from the front panel. We also like the slightly retro look to the Proper Soda label, which, combined with the color scheme, helps make this product look like a cousin of a craft beer. Overall, a very solid and enjoyable product.
