Purple Stuff

Purple Stuff

Manufacturer's Brand Overview [Edit]

Purple Stuff comes in four flavors, Classic Grape, Berry Calming, Sippin Citrus and Lean Apple. Purple Stuff is an anti-anxiety drink that helps you focus and calms you down. To create the calming effect, Purple Stuff has only a small amount of crystalline fructose, a natural sugar that metabolizes slowly and is suitable for diabetics. Rosehips and valerian root are combined with L-Theanine, the active ingredient in green tea, for the magic bullet. Purple Stuff also contains high quality fruit essences for a calming aroma, while the pure mineral water from an Artesian well adds the complexity to the taste.

Berry Calming

Product Type:Functional: Relaxation Drink; Container: 16 oz can
BevNET Review: If you've ever had a black cherry soda, the flavor of Purple Stuff's Berry Calming will be a familiar one. Fortunately though, they've turned down the sweetness significantly and, thanks to the use of sucralose, have kept the calories at 100 per can. It's our favorite tasting flavor of the Purple Stuff lineup. Like the other flavors in the lineup, the drink relies on the use of B vitamins, rosehips, valerian root, and L-theanine. The drink certainly made us calm, but it's hard to say whether its due to the function of the ingredients OR the lack of ingredients that will make your heart race. Again, packaging is the biggest area that needs improvement, with a cluttered front panel that would be a lot more pleasing if it had fewer elements competing for your eye. Otherwise, an enjoyable product.Reviewed on: 7/24/2008

Classic Grape

Product Type:Functional: Relaxation Drink; Container: 16 oz can
BevNET Review: Like Berry Calming's Black Cherry like flavor, this flavor will be a familiar one. It's a classic grape soda flavor, dialed down to a manageable level of sweetness and calories. However, a grape soda flavor isn't exactly what we think of when it comes to "relaxation." That being said, while the flavor execution is good, we'd likely stick with one of the other flavors of the brand. Lastly, our packaging comments apply to this flavor as well. Reviewed on: 7/24/2008
