BevNET Review: RAAW’s Carrot Lemonade is actually a blend of carrot, pineapple, apple, and lemon juice, which makes for a more complex flavor that the name implies. The complex flavor mutes the carrot flavor a bit, especially with the more powerful flavors of lemon and pineapple in the mix, so in that sense, this product doesn’t have a particularly vegetal -- flavor, making it a more marketable product from our point of view. Ultimately, this product’s flavor is quite palatable and well balanced, especially when comparing it to other super premium juices. On the outside, they’ve done a really nice job as well, using an attractive 16 oz. PET with vibrant graphics. The name “RAAW” is pretty easy to understand, while images of carrots and lemons help create the sense of healthiness that the marketer is going for. Overall, a very well-executed product. BevNET Review: Of the flavors of RAAW that we sampled, this was the only variety that promotes a flavor (ginger) that doesn’t actually come from added juice. That was a bit of a disappointment to us, especially since the ginger flavor that is present is muted rather than the spice they could get from raw ginger juice. Instead the drink has a pineapple, apple, and cranberry flavor, which is good, but not as original or unique as RAAW’s other flavors. Adding some ginger juice (and heat) to the product would certainly change this. Packaging is, like the other varieties, a 16 oz. PET that’s fully wrapped. It’s attractive and has a definite vibe of healthiness to it, which is clearly what they were going for with this product. Overall, it’s good, but could be much better, especially after the bar has been set extremely high by their other flavors.Reviewed on: 3/1/2010

BevNET Review: While a drink based on beets is not something that’s going to create instant appeal in consumers, Raaw has done a superb job creating a drink that’s very flavorful and addictive. Using a blend of only five ingredients (beet juice, pineapple juice, lemon juice, apple juice, and natural flavors), this 100 percent juice drink has a bold but well balanced flavor. The flavor of the beet juice hits your tongue first, followed by a sweet note of pineapple. These two flavors combine to create something that’s exotic, but quenching, with just the right amount of vegetable and fruit flavors. The lemon and apple are definitely distinguishable from the mix, but their roles are more in taming and smoothing out the mixture than anything else. All in all, this is a product that’s very easy to chug, especially since both your palate and body will crave its unique flavor and nutritional benefits. Packaging is a 16 oz. PET bottle that has been fully wrapped. The label certainly looks like something that’s good for you, with chunks of beets and lemons visible on the front panel. Plus, the “RAAW” brand name and its associated tag line (“it tastes RAAW”) fit well with the theme. However, we would love it if we could see what’s inside the bottle a bit more easily. Overall, a cleverly crafted and well executed product that we’d definitely reach for again.Reviewed on: 3/1/2010

BevNET Review: RAAW’s Cucumber Pineapple is a 100 percent natural fruit and vegetable juice mixture that, as the name states, is based on cucumber and pineapple juices with no sugar added. Like RAAW’s other products, this one isn’t exactly a classic juice combination, but instead an original effort. They’ve pulled it off quite well, with a light note of cucumber hitting your tongue first, followed by sweet notes of apple and pineapple with a touch of lemon to the finish. Natural flavors have been added, but they appear to be aiding, rather than supplying, the drink’s flavor. While there’s just a touch too much apple juice for us, the product is extremely drinkable and pleasing to the palate. Packaging is a fully wrapped 16 oz. PET bottle that has been given a “good for you” design, complete with vibrant images of cucumbers, pineapples, and apples. Overall, we appreciate the originality of this product and were quite pleased with its high quality execution.Reviewed on: 3/1/2010
