BevNET Review: While Mistic claims that Berry RE is an energy drink, it's much different than your typical energy drink. Right from the start, even the packaging is different -- this one comes in metal bottle. As for the flavor, it's relatively easy on the palate compared to your standard energy drink, but we wouldn't say that it tastes good. It uses a variety of fruit flavors and has a ghastly blue color that is reminiscent of Kool Aid. In addition, it uses high fructose corn syrup, and it really shows. Of course, this product has the four standard energy drink ingredients -- taurine, caffine, ginseng, and guarana -- so we guess that it probably gives you the same boost as the competition. BevNET Review: Citrus flavored Mistic RE is relatively refreshing fruit flavored energy drink. Packaged in a metal bottle that gives the product a sophisticated look, this product is a bit different than what we are used to seeing in an energy drink. While the natural flavors used do not give this product a realistic tasting fruit flavor, it is still relatively pleasant. Specifically, it has a bit of a tropical citrus flavor, but it's too hard to tell exactly what they were trying to do. As for the energy formula, it has the same basic ingredients that you'll find in 95% of energy drinks on the market today -- so no points for originality. Overall, it looks cool, but could definitely use some more originality in the formulation.Reviewed on: 1/21/2003
