Passion

BevNET Review:
Passion is the "spanish fly" of the Red Eye brand. The passion-fruit flavored beverage's label reads, "Arousing blend of siberian ginseng, damiana, schizandra, avena sativa and gotu cola. The perfect way to inspire desire." We won't comment on the drink's efficacy (BevNET is an all-male office), but we will say that is yet another excellent flavor from the Red Eye brand.

BevNET Review:
Platinum is yet another strange but excellent flavor from the Red Eye brand. We would characterize it as a cola-like flavor with ginger overtones. The blue colored member of the brand, Platinum carries a label claim which reads, "Stimulating combination of ginger, gotu kola, ginseng, gingko biloba, guarana and grape seed, enhanced with green tea extract. The perfect way to regenerate." We would have to agree with its statement; energy drinks just don't get much better than this.

Power

BevNET Review:
Red Eye Power is the canned member of the Red Eye brand. Unlike its bottled cousins which hail from Australia, Power is canned in New Zealand. It taste is a very close match to Red Bull, for better or worse. Its 8.4 oz form will be much more readily recognized by Northern Hemisphere erergy drinkers. We wish the company was a bit more adverturous with its flavor, but overall this is a decent tasting energy drink.

Extreme

BevNET Review:
Red Eye Extreme is a the green flavor of the brand. Featuring a citrus flavor, it is one of the better tasting energy drinks we've tried. Its lime-like flavor is also particularly effective given the products green glass bottle. The label reads "Potent Blend of amazonian guarana, ginseng, ginkgo, and amino acids. The perfect way to revive body an mind." In addition, Extreme falls into the less-sugary half of the brand containing a more normal 37 grams of carbs per bottle.

Red Eye Classic is the dessert wine of energy drinks. Featuring a whopping 49.5 grams of carbs per 12 oz bottle, the product is almost shockingly sweet. It has a berry-like flavor which is strongly influenced by its guarana extract content. In general, the Red Eye drink contain 106 mg of caffeine per serving, slightly above the average caffeine content for energy drinks. Red Eye Classic would make an ideal mixer for an alcohol based drink. Beyond that, we think most adults will find Red Eye Gold to be far too sweet.

Red Eye Gold is the dessert wine of energy drinks. Featuring a whopping 49.5 grams of carbs per 12 oz bottle, the product is almost shockingly sweet. Its flavor resembles a vanilla or honey, with overtones of its guarana berry extract influencing. The packaging is attractive, but we can't help but think about the distribution issues created by its glass packaging. Furtheremore, potential North American buyers might not readily recognize this product as a energy drink. This beverage would make an ideal mixer for an alcohol based drink. Beyond that, we think most adults will find Red Eye Gold to be far too sweet.
