BevNET Review: Red Jacket’s “Tart Cherry Stomp” is a 100 percent juice blend of tart cherry juice, apple juice, and vitamin C. Unlike some of the more industrialized juices out there, Red Jacket uses unfiltered, not-from-concentrate juices that were cold pressed. However, the drink is pasteurized, so the flavor that’s ultimately inside the bottle is very much on par with other pasteurized and refrigerated juices. As far as the flavor goes, the cherry flavor is very good, but it’s cut a little bit too much with apple. That said, we were slightly disappointed, with the name “tart cherry stomp” implying a bolder, more tart cherry flavor. With the formulation the way that it currently is, calling it cherry flavored apple juice would be a bit more accurate. Visually, they’ve done a very nice job of creating something that is appealing to the senses and has a premium vibe. The 12 oz. bottle seems like the perfect size and shape, fitting nicely in your hand and feeling very much like an appropriate portion size. The design of the brand and label have a minimalist vibe that feel fitting for a brand that’s named after an orchard and has been around for over fifty years. It definitely feels like an authentic and wholesome product as a result. We do, however, take issue with their labeling of this product as having 1.5 servings (it’s a single serve bottle). Overall, a very nice effort that, with some improvement to the balance of cherry juice to apple juice, could be an exceptional product. Reviewed on: 10/29/2012
