Tropical

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 oz
BevNET Review: Of the three additional flavors that we sampled, this one had the most distinctive and enjoyable flavor. Like the other varieties, this one uses a mixture of xylitol and rebiana (stevia) to create a sugar free formulation. The pairing of the lightly sweet tropical flavor with the touch of heat provided by the cinnamon creates something original and pleasant. Packaging is clean and, for the most part, appealing to our eye. Branded with the wordy “Sugar Free Nutritional Vitamin Beverage”, it’s understandable, but not the most succinct tagline we’ve ever seen. Moving “Diabetic Friendly” to a secondary tagline and adding “Formulated by Scientists” also seems like decent copy for the bottle. However, things are starting to seem a little crammed under the logo. Still, this is a very enjoyable product that has innovative qualities on both the inside and outside. Reviewed on: 3/4/2009

Berry

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 oz
BevNET Review: Originally brought to market as a "Diabetic Nutritional Beverage", Rev-D has be wisely recast as a “Sugar Free Nutritional Beverage.” This unique tasting beverage has only 12 calories, thanks to the use of xylitol and stevia as its sweeteners. This results in a sugar style sweetness, but with little to no aftertaste. More importantly, there's a touch of cinnamon to the flavor (from cinnamon extract), which adds a slight spice and a nice complement to the drink's light berry flavor. Added vitamins are certainly a plus, with the focus again being to satisfy the dietary needs of diabetics. All in all, we are very impressed with the flavor and innovative approach to what's inside the drink. In its cleaned up form, the drink certainly looks better, with similar styling to other products in the category. Rev-D’s technical looking packaging is moderately attractive, although the different text elements seem like they could work together better than they currently do. Plus, the product could use a touch of personality to it if it wants to be memorable with consumers. Overall, enjoyable flavor, innovative concept, and packaging that’s just average. Blueberry Pomegranate

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 oz
BevNET Review: The Blueberry Pomegranate flavor of Rev-D is very similar in style to that of the Berry, delivering a somewhat tart fruit flavor that pairs nicely with the slight spice flavor at the finish. On the other hand, since they use flavorings and not fruit juices, it doesn’t have an overly accurate fruit flavor. It would probably be better if they stuck with either a blueberry or pomegranate rather than blending the two. That’s a small blemish for a product that has otherwise been crafted well, with the best part being the natural sweetness that they’ve achieved through the use of xylitol and reb-a. Like the other flavors, packaging has a decidedly technical feel to it, which could either add credibility to the brand’s “formulated by scientists” tagline. We would, however, suggest that the text on the front panel be simplified a bit so that the message is easier to read. Overall, a decent entry, but not our favorite of the lineup.Reviewed on: 3/4/2009

Berry Flavor

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 16.9 oz
BevNET Review: Designed to be a "Diabetic Nutritional Beverage", Rev-D is a unique tasting beverage that is zero calorie and uses xylitol as its sweetener of choice. The use of xylitol gives it a sugar style sweetness without any calories or aftertaste. In addition, there's a touch of cinnamon to the flavor (from cinnamon extract), which adds a slight spice and a nice complement to the drink's light berry flavor. Added vitamins are certainly a plus, with the focus again being to satisfy the dietary needs of diabetics. All in all, we are very impressed with the flavor and innovative approach to what's inside the drink. The outside, however, is something that needs work. Branding it as a drink for diabetics seems like something that will potentially pigeon hole. Plus, we didn't find the label of the drink to be that appealing compared to the many other drinks that are in this bottle. In our opinion, the drink would benefit from a less technical label that promotes the drink's zero calorie formulation and uses "diabetic safe" as a secondary benefit. Overall, innovative and enjoyable flavor, but Rev-D would certainly benefit from a packaging makeover. Reviewed on: 12/2/2008
