BevNET Review: There is a big difference between 'home brewed' root beer and those brands made by the soda giants, and Root 66 Root Beer exemplifies this difference. Brewed by the newly begun Roadside Beverage Company, Root 66 is a great old fashioned, "All American" beverage. It is lightly carbonated with a rich, full flavor and a slight caramel-like taste. Made with pure cane sugar (as only the superior sodas are, in our humble opinion) this is a definite BevNET pick.

Best non-natural flavored root beer ever
4 stars4 stars4 stars4 stars4 stars

I would have given Root 66 5 stars but that is reserved for root beers that are all natural flavored. That being said, I've had natural brews that can't come close to the flavor of Root 66. The natural cane sugar sweetener adds a lot to the overall taste which is suprisingly complex. My only complaint is that it is unavailable in stores in Arizona. I've been know to ship a case or 2! Seek this one out if you are a connoisseur.

First time trying this product. It was smooth; but did not like the "bite". Would not purchase again.

nice effort but still not close to Bulldog or Henry Weinhard. But with out question better than most like over rated Stewerts, Hanks, IBC and Hires.

This Stuff Tastes Like Heaven
5 stars5 stars5 stars5 stars5 stars

OHMYGOD!!! If you haven't tasted this stuff yet--or even heard of it before--go order some online right now! This is the BEST rootbeer I have ever tasted in my life! Forget all the hype about Virgil's Rootbeer--Root 66 is wonderful & doesn't taste like a weird concoction of herbal oddities. Root 66 uses pure cane sugar, not corn syrup or other cheaper sweeteners. There are some equally interesting ingredients, including chicory, sweet birch & sarsaparilla root--stuff they used to use to make old-fashioned root beer way back when. It is definitely something different--not your average rootbeer. There is a special taste to it that makes it distinct and extraordinary, without the bizarre flavorings of Virgil's root beer. There isn't too much of any one flavoring in Root 66--it's sweet but not too sweet, with just enough of a difference so that you know you're drinking something special. Don't drink this like it was just something to wash down your hamburger with--it's something to be celebrated & enjoyed on its own, slightly chilled but not too much so, so you can enjoy all the nuances of this heavenly nectar. The only drawback about this drink is that it's almost impossible to find in your local grocery store--the only place I could get this stuff up til a while ago was a small independent grocery store near my house that, unfortunately, is now closed. So, quick! Go find a place online that you can order Root 66, and enjoy! Mmmmmm---GOOD!
