BevNET Review: Rosa's Strawberry Horchata (pronounced or-CHA-tah) uses the same base horchata flavor as the rest of the line, but it has been enhanced with strawberry flavor. Unfortunately for this beverage, the strawberry flavor does not have a natural taste to it and, in our opinion, it is too sweet for adult taste buds. The strawberry flavor almost completely masks the horchata flavor and makes the product feel more like a strawberry flavored milk product. We'd recommend either switching the strawberry flavor entirely or reducing the level of sweetness. Reviewed on: 8/16/2004

BevNET Review: Rosa's Original Horchata is our favorite flavor of the brand. It provides the most authentic horchata experienc because, unlike the others, it has no added fruit flavors. Horchata, which is a traditional Mexican beverage made from cinnamon, rice, sugar, and milk, is not a flavor that will be totally foreign to the American palate. Rosa's Horchata most closely resembles a more sweet, less spicy chai latte. In any event, Rosa's provides the consumer with a product that will feel traditional to many ethnic communities while it will feel innovative to mainstream America. As far as RTD shelf-stable dairy beverages go, this product provides a clean, satisfying flavor without going overboard on the calories and fat as many dairy beverages do. Overall, Rosa's Original Horchata should be a hit in hispanic community and has potential for mainstream success as well.Reviewed on: 8/16/2004
