BevNET Review: Sambazon, a company known for producing acai based juice drinks, has entered into the traditional energy drink category with its Amazon Energy product. The product uses a USDA Organic mixture of acai, acerola juice, guarana extract, Guayaki branded Yerba Mate, and Steaz branded green tea extract. The resulting product has an extremely enjoyable taste to it, complete with a mildly sweet, earthy flavored body and notes of acai, yerba mate, and green tea. Packaging fits well with the existing Sambazon brand and the purple colored can has a clean front panel that is easy to read and pleasing to the eye. Overall, this is an innovative and extremely enjoyable product.

Best yet

I have tried all the energy drinks and juices and if you like the taste of the berry from the frozed packs you will probably like the energy drink. Very refreshing, not at all sweet and no aftertaste whatsoever. Only objection is that my local grocery store dropped the energy drink and replaced with the juice which is more expensive and does not invigorate. I use the frozen packets in my protein drink which is excellent.

Complete Failure of an Energy Drink

I just bought and drank the Sambazon Amazon Energy Drink and my experience was complete disappointment. This version of their energy drink falls very short of flavor. Please tell me where you think you taste Acai in this beverage because it sure wasn't in the can I bought. I wrote an honest review on my site...read it if you want the real truth...acaifoods.net

Be prepared for the dry earthy taste

I am surprised - when they say "mildly sweet" they mean it. This has very strong earthy acai/tea notes and not much sweet. Not necessarily bad, but be prepared.

Finally an all-natural, organic energy drink! Lightly carbonates, refreshing. Tastes great with vodka.

Tired of drinking Jello??

I've always had a problem with energy drinks being very sugary and having the consistency of Jello gelatin before it solidifies. This energy drink is very light, not so sugary and leaves a clean taste. I'd pick this any day over the Monster, Rock Star or Lost brands. And if you like Acai, this is the perfect pick!
