Sambazon: Rainforest Immunity

BevNET Review: We’ve always been fans of acerola juice, especially Sambazon’s Shaman Immunity, which is now discontinued. This product is a well executed effort to get acerola juice back into the mix. They’ve blended a variety of juices, including acai, grape, apple, passionfruit, and acerola, which gives the product several layers of fruit flavor. The acai is still distinguishable, but the cocoa finish has gone missing. In its place is an almost tropical style finish, which should make this a nice alternative for those who are new to acai. From a positioning point of view, we think that they need to more clearly explain the “immunity” aspect of the drink, which, while likely more for marketing than anything else, might make consumers think that there is functionality in this drink beyond the antioxidants and vitamins that are present in the fruit. Otherwise, we’d like to see the flavor of the drink more prominently positioned. All nitpicking aside, this is an extremely enjoyable product from Sambazon — one of our favorites to date.
