BevNET Review: Shirley Temple soda is a unique product that provides a refreshing and authentic interpretation of an old-fashioned Shirley Temple. In fact, this beverage is so authentic that each bottle has its very own maraschino cherry inside -- a first as far as we know. While the concept behind this product is wholesome and nostalgic, this product has a couple of issues which mainly stem from the manufacturer's desire to bill this as a product for kids. Specifically, the appearance of the product make the product look adult and old-fashioned rather than something that will appeal to a child or teen. In addition, the product's tag line of "the soda kids will love" is one that seems to ignore all of the negative press currently surrounding children and carbonated soft drinks. In our opinion, this product is essentially a novelty product that fits in with other classic beverages, such as the egg cream. There will always be a market for a product like this, but a small one at best.
