Slim Jones Soda: Diet Cream Soda

Difficult to choke down

This was a horrific diet drink. I'll qualify the rest of my remarks by saying that I'm not a huge diet drink fan, but I can stomach the occasional Diet Coke or Pepsi. A good soda (to my taste buds anyway) is one where you forget that it's composed of a bunch of artificial ingredients (typically) and just enjoy savoring the flavors. A poor one, like this one, actually directs your thoughts to the chemical taste of the beverage, causing you to wonder what's in it and whether you might die from ingesting it. I found myself thinking of the smell of toilet bowl cleaner while I drank this. After a few swigs, I just had to keep myself from gagging and chug the rest of it. With some of these diet drinks one has to wonder what purpose it actually fills to drink it. There was nothing redeeming about this experience.
