No Fear tastes like carbonated cranberry juice. Nothing else, just cranberry. It didn't give me much of a boost, but it tastes good and it comes in a can that screams energy.

Energy boost
I work as a masons laborer with a father /son business. One day the son asked if he could try a No Fear. After drinking a single can he loaded all the debris, about 3 ton of concrete and brick rubble. He had never touched a rubble pile in the 12 years previous. It was the best &2 I ever spent!
I love the taste. Its like pomegranite. Yes it gives a boost,a little more than a mug of coffee. Alot more than Monster, but not enough to make you crazy.
I was an Amp guy for quite a while. I tried Monster Rockstar, and all of them just didn't do it for me.
Then I tried Sobe NoFear. I like the taste, but what really blew my mind was the kick that I got after every one that I had. I'm a programmer, and I drink a lot of energy drinks, and was the first drink powerful enough to compel me to find a site and write a review on it.
SoBe has made an onslaught of drinks, and are for the most part hit-and-miss. As far as energy drinks go, SoBe is a market giant in 16oz cans. No Fear, which is NOT a knockoff of SoBe AR, has a very busy label, but draws you in. The fruit scent is a pleasant punch in the face, and the initial sip is nice. However, No Fear is over-carbonated. The fruity flavor becomes too much, too early, and this is an ok drink overall. Drinking it too fast, by experience, is not recommended. Nothing fantastic, and you don't need to be fearless to try it.
Final Analysis: Fear should not be a factor for you.

Yummy
I really like the taste. It gives a great kick. Like the oversized can. This drink has more herbal ingredients than alot of the others, it makes the energy last longer. Only thing is, I've been drinking these for a while and it seems like they don't have as much bite as they used to. I think they're not as carbonated as they used to be.
When I started drinking energy drinks, I started with Red Bull, and it gave me headaches. I tried all of them in the same size as Sobe NoFear. I love it, its the best tasting and the most effective throughout the day without a hard crash at the end of the day.
So I've taken it upon myself to try the different energy drinks out there, upon my first taste of Sobe No Fear I tought it tasted pretty good. But somewhere between gulp 3-5 it became really disgusting. I think the fruity sweetness was just too much, I would never buy this again. They recently came out with a Superman themed version and that thing was even worst, its like drinking a halls cough drop, there's some werid menthol taste that I just can't stand.
It's a flavor we're all familure with, if you're into trying energy drinks. The No Fear Gold is a nice improvment on this, making it a bit smoother. This has beenn recaned as Superman. For awhile, they were giving this away at No Fear stores. Free energy drinks are always a plus.

awful taste
I love sobe adrenaline rush, so I thought I would try no fear, thinking it would be great too. Boy was I wrong. Maybe I just got a bad can or something, but it has a metalic taste to it. Very bad aftertaste. I would not recommend it.
