BevNET Review: With the added lemon lime flavor, Sol Mate Lemon Lime would be our choice over the original. The citrus flavor provides a nice complement to the mate and also gives the drinker something familiar in a potentially new flavor. The product is otherwise identical -- clean, premium style packaging and a USDA organic formulation. We didn't get any sort of energy buzz from this product, but it's still an extremely enjoyable alternative to CSDs -- which is really where we see it's potential anyway. Our only complaint is that it's somewhat difficult to tell which flavor is which as it's buried at the bottom of the bottle in a relatively small, italic font.

BevNET Review: Is it an energy drink? Or is it a soda? The answer is that it's a bit of both. Either way, this USDA certified organic carbonated soft drink is refreshingly well done. The tall, heavyweight 10 ounce bottle feels sturdy in your hand and gives off a premium vibe. The label is clean, but the logo is easy to lose in the amber colored backdrop provided by the liquid. As for the flavor, Sol Mate does not disappoint. It's much lighter than other mate products we've tried, with a mellow tea flavor that's complemented nicely by the carbonation and sugar. Overall, Sol Mate is a product that is very drinkable and while it will likely have success in health & natural stores to start, it definitely has mainstream potential.
