BevNET Review: Star Power is a drink that's made two simple ingredients: star fruit juice and natural flavors. What's inside the bottle has a moderate amount of sweetness, which helps offset the vegetal flavor of the star fruit juice (similar to the finish that you'll find with goji juice). It's the type of flavor that people will likely either love or hate -- it really boils down to whether or not you find the finish to be tasty or not. Now in a square shaped plastic bottle with a sleeve wrap label, this product looks much more like a beverage product than it's original, more elegant glass bottle did. Star Power now feels much more marketable and functional, like the type of product that you could easily take with you on a regular basis. As far as the functionality goes, there's certainly some education that will be needed for people to believe what's written on the bottle. And while the front panel and design of the bottle look nice and create a memorable brand, we can’'t help but think that they could remove the copy behind the star and replace it with something that helps sell the consumer on star fruit juice. Finally, a one-flavor line that relies solely on star fruit juice seems risky, especially since many people won't like the flavor. Creating additional flavors that feature more familiar flavors and established health benefits seems like a logical next step. However, we’'d hate to see the brand lose this 100 percent star fruit variety. Overall, this is a significantly improved product that seems like a great starting point for a line of star fruit based beverages. We'd definitely reach for this product again.
