BevNET Review: The addition of mocha flavor to the Doubleshot Energy line, especially since the mocha helps offset some of the sucralose aftertaste that we cited in the Coffee review. Otherwise, the flavor is just what you'd expect from a Starbucks drink, including a notes of coffee, milk, and sugar. The addition of "energy" is nice, but adding straight up caffeine would probably be more marketable than guarana (which has natural caffeine), ginseng, and vitamins. Otherwise, we like the flavor, the packaging is decent, and the concept is a logical evolution for the brand.

I love the Starbucks Mocha drinks.. The Vanilla is good as well.. I would like to buy this wholesale.

It's 5:45 am and I am just now starting to fade out after a doubleshot jolt around 10 pm tonight. It's 12/24 and I had a lot of work to do around the house before Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it went down as I'm not a big coffee fan at all (although I do like the peppermint Starbucks that's around this time of year). The lack of a jittery feeling due to caffeine or sugar is non-existant too. I wouldn't drink this every day due to the health risk, but I'll probably keep a few in the fridge for an added boost for days like this.

Alas, after thoroughly enjoying the Vanilla one, I managed to get my paws on the Mocha one. As I cited in my review of the Vanilla...I'm really not fond of the sucralose. But aside that, the chocolate in this drink didn't seem to come through for me...maybe I've just spoiled myself making my own chocolate mochas with real cocoa powder as alternate fixes for months, and have come accustomed to really hard hitting chocolate flavor punching me in the mouth. But this drink hardly even tapped it... If you are seeking a REAL chocolate flavor in your iced coffee, I warn that this might dissapoint. Get a Mocha Frappacino instead; that does have real cocoa in it.
