BevNET Review: Much like the Lime flavor, Steaz Orange Energy Drink does a great job of blending fruit flavor with the mellow matte and green tea base. The orange flavor tastes very natural, giving the product notes of sweet citrus flavor throughout, while the other ingredients in the product (acai, juice, yerba mate, guarana, green tea) give the product its mellow earthy finish. With 80mg of caffeine, there's definitely some kick in this stuff, albeit a milder amount than some of the more mainstream competition. Lastly, the dark orange color of this variety's can works better than the lime. Like all the other Steaz Energy flavors, it features prominent placement of the USDA Organic and Fair Trade certified seals. Overall, an excellent addition to the lineup.Reviewed on: 9/10/2007

BevNET Review: Steaz's Lime Energy Drink has the same great tea and mate base that we loved in the original, but they've flavored it with lime instead of berry. Fortunately, they've used a good quality lime flavor, which means that it actually tastes like real limes as opposed to something out of the candy store. The result is a drink that's complex in flavor, with notes of tea and lime coming together in a well balanced formulation. Packaging follows the styling of the original Steaz Energy drink, with a light green backdrop. However, that light green backdrop is a bit too light, which makes it hard to read the word "ENERGY" that runs across the front of the can. BevNET Review: Steaz's first attempt at diet energy is a pretty interesting one. Rather than using artificial sweeteners, they've stuck to their organic ways, relying on 9g of sugar (there are 23g in the other flavors) to give this product its lightly sweetened flavor. The reduced level of sweetness means less of a balance with the other flavors in the drink, resulting in something that's a bit bitter to the finish. However, we think that a bitter finish is better than the harsh aftertaste of most other diet drinks, so this one is worth a serious look. Packaging is good, with a clear differentiation between the regular flavors without sacrificing much in the way of appearance. BevNET Review: The creators of Steaz Green Tea Soda have launched this new energy drink, aptly subtitled “Organic Fuel.” This product, which is both USDA Organic and Fair Trade Certified, blends a variety of today’s trendiest ingredients, including green tea, yerba mate, acai, and guarana. So, did they actually make it taste good? You bet. The subtle berry flavor combines quite nicely with the green tea and mate flavors, which results in an earthy style flavor that finishes up nicely with a blast of sweetness (one that’s derived from evaporated cane juice, of course). There’s minimal energy flavor in this product, which is to be expected given its organic focus. Plus, there’s no added caffeine and, therefore, the buzz from Steaz Energy feels much more natural than the one imparted by most of today’s energy drinks. Finally, there’s the packaging, which is clean and to the point. Between the crunchy sounding tag line (“For the mind, body and soul,”) to the NASCAR-style placement of logos and badges, it is very clear that this product is different.
