BevNET Review: Stewart's Root Beer is a satisfying, traditional root beer. It has been around since 1924 and has probably not changed too much. This root beer will definitely satisfy any craving for root beer, but it lacks any special "bite" that many of the newer brews pride themselves in. With its classic flavor, Stewart's Root Beer is the type of root beer that would be excellent in a root beer float.

Good but not great

This is a pretty good root beer, and certainly is much better than everyday commercial stuff like A&W, but it does not use sugar and really has nothing special about it. Try a real root beer made with cane sugar to see the difference.

Great soda, needs real sugar!

I love this soda, nice and smooth, and a great taste, and a superb aftertaste. It does however need sugar instead of corn syrup, and then it would probably be the perfect root beer! Makes a superb root beer float!

It's very average

Nothing you can't get from A&W, IBC, et all. Better than Mug of course. I rank this as a better bottom tier root beer.

Stewart's never disappoints and does make a fantastic root beer for floats. They have a big bottle for those really hot summer days. Great job, Stewart's!

Dear Stewart If you do exist.... why not make your soda taste more like what you say its supposed to taste like. I tried this years ago and now Mr. Steart needs to know that Me and Twisted Sister aint gonna take it. No foam... too sugary....boring bottles. They do make good orange though. RB

Very good and old fashioned flavor

Stewarts root beer is an excellent example of a great, smooth, mild, old-fashioned root beer. The aftertaste is expecially tasty. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 instead of a 5 is that, as has been mentioned by other reviewers, they used corn syrup instead of sugar. Berghoff's root beer is an example of what root beer can taste like if sugar is used. So, if you can't find Berghoff's, Stewarts is an excellent choice. But if you can get Berghoff's, I'd have to say it's the better way to go.
