Review: 'Tis The Nog

Eggnog is one of those beverages that has, in the history of New Age beverages, been butchered so many times that it’s just dying for a makeover. We’ve even seen a few attempts at converting this into an almond milk, but none have been as good as this one. To create the product, Suja has married coconut, dates, coconut palm sugar, pecan, almond, vanilla, maca and nutmeg. It first and foremost drinks like a nut milk, which is a good thing considering that one can get tired of eggnog flavor pretty quickly. Suja's approach to the flavoring is very good, with the dates, coconut, pecan, and vanilla all adding to what you taste. Plus, they’ve nailed the sweetness level. It’s a flavor that we’d enjoy whether it’s part of a holiday line or not. Nutritionally, the product has 130 calories, 13g of sugar, 2g of fiber, and 9g of protein and also contains iron and calcium. In terms of packaging, this one feels the most naturally festive as the result of their choice of name (everyone knows what “Nog” means). Otherwise, it’s more of the same for the Elements line. The front panel is busy, but manages to be easy to read and has everything the buyer needs to figure out what the product is. Overall, we definitely enjoyed this product.
