This variety of Suja marks the second stevia-sweetened flavor to of the flagship “Classic” line. For a lemonade that has only 20 calories and 2g of sugar per bottle, the flavor is interesting and well-executed, bolstered by a host of ingredients that you won’t find in other lemonades, including ground vanilla bean, lavender, maqui berry, and red cabbage, along with honey and lemon juice (the drink is 10 percent juice in total). There’s definitely some lavender flavor and aroma, but it’s more of an accent. This definitely seems like a smart choice on the part of Suja. As for the stevia, they’ve done a nice job of masking it -- it’s only noticeable for a small part of the drink’s finish. Visually, it looks the part of the rest of the Suja Classic line and the pinkish-purple color of the liquid makes it stand out. Really, our biggest question for this product is whether or not it fits in the Classic line or somewhere else. Still, this is definitely a worthy offering as it both tastes great and fills a low-calorie void in the category. We’re definitely fans.
