BevNET Review: Sunkist Ten is, like the other “Ten” flavors from Dr Pepper Snapple, made with a blend of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), aspartame, and ace-k. And, like the other Ten flavors, our feeling on it is basically the same: it tastes better than its zero calorie counterpart but not as good as the full calorie. Ultimately, you can thank the HFCS for this as its presence adds that touch of syrupy sweetness that almost tricks your mind into thinking that this is not a diet product. Otherwise, there’s not a ton to say about this product -- it’s a mainstream CSD and it suffers from the same things that other mainstream CSD suffer from. Perhaps the only other thing to note about this product is that it contains a decent dose of caffeine, with 68 mg per bottle (a Red Bull has about 80mg). In any event, this is a product whose potential is likely only as good as the base of Sunkist drinkers, since we see the consumer base for this being the result of attrition from their HFCS sweetened product or their zero calorie offering.
