For the hardcore consumer, GT’s Multi-Green kombucha is probably a dream come true. Not only do you have all the benefits and flavor of kombucha at the base of the drink, but they have also added in three forms of algae: Klamath Mountain blue green algae, spirulina, and chlorella. The resulting mix has a brownish green color that’s definitely not for the faint of heart. That’s not to say that this isn’t a good drink – the execution of it is really spot on as far as kombucha beverages go. The earthy tasting green ingredients pair very nicely with fermented and lightly sweet flavor of GT’s kombucha. Really, the only issue we have with this product is the amount that it settles – you’ll need to shake it which makes the effervescent liquid inside the bottle fizz up quite a bit (be careful when opening). Functionally, the product has both kombucha and algae (a “superfood”), making it something that should appeal to the niche of consumers who are already well indoctrinated into the benefits of kombucha. We’d say the same for the outside, which, despite its similar look to the rest of the GT’s line, has an almost off-putting look thanks to the green colored liquid that’s visible through the bottle. Overall, while this variety is well executed for what it’s intended to be, we’d stick with some of the other, more appetizing flavors.
