The Original variety of TEAloe, which was formerly known as ChanTea, is a tasty blend of Fair Trade green tea, aloe and sugar. The flavor is very straightforward: blended green tea and aloe vera pulp -- that’s what you’ve got here. The flavor is sweet, but not too sweet, with a nice balance between the green tea and the aloe. The aloe pieces give the product not only a unique flavor, but also some contrast of texture since you basically need to chew the pulp. owever, the pulp will have somewhat of a polarizing effect on consumers -- they’ll either love it or hate it. But all in all, we think that the flavor inside the bottle is quite enjoyable and well-executed. On the outside, the product has switched to a more standard-looking 16 oz. PET bottle with a shrink sleeve label (it used to be in a thinner, more squarish-looking package). While we think the company is on the right path, the product has a pretty conservative-looking design that doesn’t really pop. Infusing some personality -- or perhaps some visual cues to the tea and aloe contained within -- might be worth exploring. Overall, we really like the name and flavor, but the branding could be developed further.
