Black Tea Latte

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9oz Plastic
BevNET Review: A latte made with coffee is something that is extremely mainstream -- at least to the extent that you’re referring to a coffee drink. Lattes made with tea, on the other hand, are still a bit of a novelty although they are appearing at more and more retail coffee establishments. And that’s basically what Teas’ Tea seems to be building upon with their new tea lattes. The Black Tea Latte flavor is a very familiar tasting product as it blends black tea, milk (from skim milk powder), and sugar for its primary ingredients. To that end, it’s milky and somewhat sweet, with the black tea working very well with the other flavors. However, it’s definitely not something that will necessarily have automatic broad appeal right out of the gate. Visually, it definitely feels slightly confusing in that it has an image of what looks like iced coffee with the word latte directly above it. This certainly could make it look like coffee to a consumer who is quickly panning the cooler. Furthermore, there’s still something about the Teas’ Tea brand that lacks identity and personality. In some ways, the product almost feels like it’s missing a logo on the front panel. Overall, Teas’ Tea Black Tea Latte is an enjoyable product, but we’d have a hard time picking this flavor as its more strongly formulated and branded counterpart. Reviewed on: 4/16/2013

Matcha Green Tea Latte

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9oz Plastic
BevNET Review: Of the two Teas’ Tea Latte flavors that make up the initial line, the Matcha Green Tea Latte is definitely the star. This product blends green tea, matcha (green tea powder), skim milk powder, turmeric, and spirulina extra (along with natural flavor and ascorbic acid). The resulting mixture has much more depth of flavor compared to the black tea variety. It starts with a nice base of green tea, complete with the earthy and grassy notes that it’s known for. Fortunately, the flavor of the milk and the added sugar (which we’d describe as making the product moderately sweetened) help mellow out the green tea and make everything taste like one cohesive product. All in all, we appreciate what they’ve created in this flavor and definitely found it preferable and more innovative than the black tea variety. On the visual end of things, we’d continue with that theme. The green color of the liquid works well with the green colored label and, for most consumers, should make it obvious that this is a green tea product. This design definitely seems more effective and appealing to the senses than the red hues used on the black tea product. Overall, we really like what they’ve created. It’s both well-executed and provides an intriguing offering for consumers who want a “latte” but don’t want coffee. Reviewed on: 4/16/2013

Crispy Apple

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16.9 oz PET
BevNET Review: Teas’ Tea’s Crispy Apple Black Tea is by far the sweetest tasting RTD tea that has been produced by Ito En to date. The product has 70 calories and 17g of sugar per 8 oz. (double that for the whole bottle), which puts it closer to mainstream teas than their flagship product line. As far as the taste goes, it’s quite good, with a mellow base of black tea that is moderately sweetened and flavored with apple flavoring that is quite accurate tasting. However, the sweetness starts to overwhelm your palate as you make your way through the bottle. Given it’s visual similarity to Honest Tea, this might be a point of confusion for consumers. Otherwise, the packaging is clean and appealing, with ribbons of color giving the product its own identity. The biggest issue for this brand is one of flavor selection. With only two varieties, Country Peach and Crispy Apple, it misses out on some of the more popular flavors that make up the RTD tea category. While this product is quite good, it lacks the natural appeal of competing brands that have lemon, berry, and other more popular flavors. Overall, a good starting point and we’d probably like its chances for success more once they flesh out the flavor lineup. Reviewed on: 10/14/2011

Mint Green

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 oz PET
BevNET Review: Of all the unsweetened Teas' Tea flavors that we've sampled, this one is definitely the best and most drinkable. They've added a complementary flavor in the form of mint, which adds a delicate layer of flavor and balance to the underlying green tea. It helps cut the natural grassiness that we Teas' Tea's green teas are known for, all the while maintaining the drinks super premium form. Our only complaint is the lack of differentiation between the flavors, which furthers the brand's commodity image. The same can be said for packaging, which, regardless of any technical merits, isn't the most appealing bottle in the category. Overall, a technically sound product with very enjoyable flavor, but it seems like they are missing the ability to make this product have real appeal.Reviewed on: 8/8/2008

Pure Black

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 oz PET
BevNET Review: Teas' Tea isn't the first premium tea line to feature a product that's pure unsweetened black tea, but it's certainly one of the better tasting. Specifically, their high quality brew of Darjeeling tea is smooth and clean throughout and lacks that bitter finish that we've seen with some of the similar entries. Packaging is standard issue Tea's Tea, featuring a shrink wrapped label around the square shaped bottle. It's not the most attractive design in the world, giving off a technical feeling that lacks personality. Overall, solid flavor and a value oriented design make Teas' Tea Pure Black a decent, but somewhat uninspired, entry into the unsweetened tea category.Reviewed on: 7/3/2008

Mugi Cha

Product Type:Tea: Alternative; Container: 16.9-oz plastic
BevNET Review: Mugi Cha is a traditional Japanese tea made from barley. It has the fresh aroma and full-bodied taste of a good barley tea. Mugi Cha does not contain caffeine. The product is truly made for a tea purist. It is unsweetened and all natural. Although a popular thirst-quencher in Japan, Mugi Cha will be entirely new to most North American taste buds. At least the consumer can rest assured that it (like all of Ito En's Tea's Tea products) will be of high quality. Overall, this is a fine product.Reviewed on: 7/22/2005

Lemongrass

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 oz PET (500 ml)
BevNET Review: This is an excellent brew in which the exotic lemongrass flavor is a clear, pleasant complement to the mild green tea flavor. It tastes fresh and has a lingering, clean finish. Teas’ Tea has managed to avoid the harshness that can sometimes accompany green tea blends – it’s apparent from the first sniff of this product, and the lovely shrink-wrap label, that this is something aimed at the high end. Definitely worth a try – this is an excellent unsweetened tea.Reviewed on: 7/21/2005

Rose Green

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 oz PET (500 ml)
BevNET Review: The rose flavor in this green tea brew comes out as a grassy finish, and while it’s always interesting to taste rose essences, they’re kind of unpleasant here. Additionally, the green tea itself tastes a bit overbrewed – as if the makers are trying to make it a match for the overpowering flavor of the dried rose petals. But it’s got a great pink-and white, abstract-looking shrink-wrap label and smells like, well, like dried rose petals. Worth a try for those who absolutely love things that are rosy. Green Jasmine

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Green Jasmine Teas' Tea is a very refreshing brew of green tea that has been infused with jasmine. This product has an almost floral taste to it that is extremely refreshing. The aroma alone will calm and refresh your mind and body. In addition, this is one of the lighter brews of Teas' Tea so we highly recommend it if enjoy being relaxed by a clean brew of green tea. We highly recommend Green Jasmine Teas' Tea to all tea drinkers.Reviewed on: 4/28/2003

Green Hoji

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Green Hoji is a roasted green tea variety that is very popular in Japan's Hokkaido and other northern regions. It's produced using premium roasted late harvest sencha and kuki (twig) green tea leaves. The resulting brew has a very smokey taste that is quite refreshing. In addition, it has more than 100% or more of daily value of Vitamin C and is high in antioxidants. A great tea with a unique flavor.Reviewed on: 4/28/2003

Green Genmai

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Green Genmai has one of the more complex flavors found in the Teas' Tea brand. Made with Japanese green tea that is brewed with roasted rice, this product has a very full and dark taste -- very similar to a dark roast of coffee, in fact. Overall, we like this product. It's definitely not something we'd reach for if we wanted a light brew, but it's certainly a nice option when looking for a more full bodied product.Reviewed on: 4/28/2003

Green White

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Ito en "Green White" is a mixture of green tea and delicate white tea. It's a decent brew, but we have to admit that it tastes a bit burnt. However, the overall package and taste is good and it's definitely an interesting concept. Not too mention that this products Japanese in style and it's unlike anything we've ever had. Pure Green

Product Type:Tea: Unsweetened; Container: 16.9 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Teas' Tea Pure Green is just what the name says -- pure green tea with no sweeteners, calories, flavors, colors, etc. It's also a rather strong brew so it has a bit of a grassy finish. If you like green tea, this beverage is defiinitely a good choice. Ito en has done a very nice job of blending a high quality tea with a nice looking and easy to carry package.Reviewed on: 4/17/2003

Golden Oolong

Product Type:Tea: Alternative; Container: 16.9 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Teas' Tea Golden Oolong is a very smooth and refreshing tea product. It's an unsweetened brew that has 0 calories and tastes very similar to something that would be served on the table at a Chinese restaurant. Overall, we like this product. It's a good clean tea in a very polished looking package. Definitely worth a try if you are a tea drinker that's in the mood for something with a little Asian flare.Reviewed on: 4/16/2003
