Organic Gemini’s Original Tigernut Horchata is a USDA Organic and HPP "horchata de chufa." It’s a pretty nice interpretation, which starts with its simple and straightforward formulation, which includes water, tigernuts and dates. The body has about the same viscosity as skim milk, which makes the product very easy to drink and refreshing. The tigernut flavor is there, but it’s mild, while the dates add sweetness and a slightly nutty finish to the drink. All in all, this is a very well-crafted product. Packaging is a 12 oz. cylindrical plastic bottle -- much the same kind that you’ll see in HPP juice products. Visually, it looks pleasing to the eye, although neither Tigernut, Horchata or the combination of the two feels like a brandable item. We’re also somewhat confused about what the brand name is -- is it Tigernut? Is it Organic Gemini? In addition, the company is going to have to re-educate American consumers as to what horchata is (they are probably used to a rice-based product). Otherwise, the design definitely feels like something that’s befitting of a very high quality product. Overall, what’s inside the bottle and its delivery feel sound, but the branding and messaging feel like they need some further thought.
