BevNET Review: Made with raspberry leaf, lemon, rooibos, rose hips, hibiscus, schisandra berry, and fair trade raw cane sugar, Paradise Punch is a very pleasant tasting non-carbonated beverage. We’d compare it to an herbal tea in terms of flavor, with a medium level of sweetness and pleasant fruity notes throughout. In this particular case, Paradise Punch drinks like a super premium raspberry iced tea. Looking at the packaging, that’s something that might not be overly obvious, with a 12 oz. long neck bottle and a design that looks more appropriate for a soda. Compounding the problem is what they’ve chosen to put on the label, which includes calling it a juice, a stress-relieving product, and an energizing product. That leaves the consumer stuck trying to decide what exactly this product is. In our opinion, putting emphasis on it being a great tasting herbal tea (which it is) would be a more marketable approach. Overall, really nice flavor, but the positioning needs refinement.Reviewed on: 3/7/2011

BevNET Review: Using a blend of water, key lime, eleuthero (aka Siberian ginseng), and fair trade cane sugar, Keen Lime is a nice tasting herbal beverage. From a flavor perspective, it’s most reminiscent of a citrus flavored tea, although in place of the tea there’s ginseng. The result is something that’s a bit more earthy than a traditional tea, but enjoyable nonetheless. There’s a hefty amount of sugar and lime flavor to the drink (side note: we’re pretty sure that the nutrition label, which lists 5g of sugar and 40 calories per 12 oz. is wrong), which ultimately makes this product have a lingering flavor. Packaging is nice looking from afar, but upon closer inspection, it’s quite confusing. Specifically, the product’s label features a pair of seemingly extraneous text callouts, including “loaded with stress relieving botanicals” (there’s only one…) and “revitalizing” (which is vague). Plus, they’ve called it “Tiki Juice”, which is strange given that the product does not at all resemble a juice in packaging or taste. Overall, the flavor is good, but not great, and the packaging and positioning definitely need to be more clear about what this product is. Reviewed on: 3/7/2011
