I LOVE this drink
I've been drinking Ting for as long as I can remember. I love the fact that it has a dry flavor to it, rather than the sweet syrupy mess that is Fresca. Ting tastes really good with grilled food.
I drive an hour from home to pick this up, and it is worth it. The grapefruit flavor is just right not overpowering and not to little. Ting is the best

Ting is Great
I lived in St. Thomas USVI, for a year back in the mid 90's. That is when I first tried Ting for the first time. I found it in a vending machine in the laundry. It was clean, crisp, and not syrupy sweet like most other sodas. I was hooked.
The only place I have been able to find it in the midwest is near Cincinnati at a grocery superstore named "Jungle Jim's". If you ever get the chance to pick up a case or 2, do it, you will not be disappointed.
Ting is the best man! To bad they don't sell it in Holland. Every time we go to St. Marten we bring a 6-pack or 2 with us back to Holland. I'll never forget Ting. I grew up with Ting. It's the island drink. Everybody likes Ting, who dosn't like it is just plain stupid.
Granted, the high level of sugar tends to put fur on your teeth, but at least it's not corn syrup. With an extremely high level of natural flavor intensity, this soda is better suited to sipping than to quaffing. I'm glad that Ting is readily available in Manhattan; we can get it for $1.25/bottle, which isn't bad at all. Incidentally, I have to disagree with the previous reviewer who wrote that Squirt' flavor is "tinny." I recently located a bottle and found it very refreshing, although it's not as good as it was when I was a child growing up in Detroit in the 50's (I think the formula may have altered since then). The nice thing about Squirt was that it WASN'T sweet. Ting is, but it's great in its own way. There's room for both!
I tried Ting about 8 years ago when I went to Jamaica, I just came back from a cruise that stopped in Jamaica and I had to get a few bottles to bring back with me. Me and alot of my family love Ting. It has a great, cool, refreshing taste. I just wish I could get it here in the US.
I first tasted Ting on the island of St Kitts. Ting is bottled on the island, though I could not find out if the grapefruit was local too.
Ting is much better than Squirt. Where Squirt is tinny, Ting is properly sweet. It has a much more wholesome grapefruit flavor as well. If I could only find Ting in the Metro Detroit area.....
My wife & I honeymooned on Anguilla 10 years ago. The ferry from St. Croix had landed us, we got our jeep rental, and man, were we hot & thirsty. We pulled into the first little store, and I saw the green bottles in the cooler. The label suggested something that might taste like the original Wink from my childhood in the late 60's. Ting didn't disappoint me. It is perfectly dry, eliciting that airy "aaahh" that usually accompanies a first sip of beer. Yet there was a sweet finish, and unmistakable fruit. Wow, a big swig seemed to say, "Welcome to Jamaica, have a nice day!" My Carribean thirst was met perfectly with Ting on Anguilla, and ever since. Once back home in Florida, I was delighted to find the beverage in the ethnic section of a few specialty markets, then finally in mainstream supermarkets, the brand having apparently been picked up by Coca Cola. What the lion is to the housecat, Ting is to ordinary soda beverages!
When my sister and I were growing up my parents would bring us on vacation at places the Caribbean, either sailing or flying. At our various stopovers they quite often had Ting available and it's pretty tasty. Anytime I drink it now it reminds of those trips.
While I wish it were cheaper (prices in my Brooklyn, NY neighborhood vary from 1.25 to 1.75 for a 9.6 oz bottle), this is the drink of the gods (or at least would be of the Rastafarian god, Emperor Haile Selasse of Ethiopia, if he were still alive). Crisp, lots of distinctive Jamaican grapefruit flavor, just the right amount of sugar and carbonation... If they had a diet version in 2 liter bottles, I'd be an addict. Sorry for those outside US distribution area who can't get from store shelves on a whim....
