Lemongrass
Category: Tea: Sweetened; Packaging: 16 oz PET
BevNET Review:
Flavoring tea with lemongrass seems like a pretty straightforward idea, but surprisingly, this is the first time we've seen it in an RTD form. The delicate, earthy flavor of the lemongrass mixes superbly with the white and green tea that provides the base to the drink, while a splash of sweetness helps round things out. It was our unquestionable favorite of the Tomandote line. However, it still needs design help to help make the product easier to understand -- and to help whet the appetite (which it doesn't right now).

Cinnamon
Category: Tea: Sweetened; Packaging: 16 oz PET
BevNET Review:
Tomandote's Canela Cinnamon flavor is a pleasant tasting mixture of black tea and cinnamon flavoring. It's definitely one of the more unique concepts that we've seen hit the tea category lately, but the execution of the cinnamon flavor seems a bit off (it tastes like cinnamon chewing gum). Toning the cinnamon flavor down would result in a significantly better tasting product. Like the other flavors, packaging and branding are the biggest hurdles for this brand. There's no mention of tea on the front panel and the choice of fonts and imagery will likely further confuse the situation. Overall, we really like the concept and hope that they can improve it in future versions.

Mint
Category: Tea: Sweetened; Packaging: 16 oz PET
BevNET Review:
Hierbabuena Mint is a mint flavored herbal tea that's made with premium ingredients. The flavor is enjoyable, delivery a mellow dose of tea flavor that has been given a splash of mint and a medium level of sweetness. It drinks on par with other premium and super premium teas. Packaging, on the other hand, was quite perplexing to us. While the design is clean and minimalist, it's hard to read (due to the choice of font) and doesn't clearly state what the product is (we honestly thought it might be tomato based). In our opinion, the product should at least state that this is a tea -- and some supporting graphics would certainly help. Otherwise, this is a confusing entry that, despite a quality formulation, will likely get passed over.
