Peach

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 20 oz PET
BevNET Review: What you have here is a run of the mill sugar sweetened mixture of black tea and peach flavoring. If you’ve ever had Snapple Peach Tea or any other number of brands, the flavor of this product will taste very familiar. That said, it’s drinkable, assuming you don’t mind ingesting 225 calories and almost 60 grams of sugar per bottle. Packaging is the most unique aspect of this product, with a 20 oz. fully wrapped PET bottle. That’s not to say that we think the packaging is a strong point of this product, but it is something that gives it its own personality. In terms of the actual look of the package, we are not fans of fully wrapping the bottle (we’d like to be able to see what’s inside). Furthermore, the execution of the brand “Tribe” feels sterile and somewhat meaningless, with the generic looking artwork failing to connect with the branding. Overall, this product is decent, but lacks the innovative qualities that are required to create a loyal following.Reviewed on: 6/16/2011

Diet Green Tea

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 20 oz PET
BevNET Review: As far as zero calorie RTD tea drinks go, Tribe’s Diet Green Tea is definitely a very drinkable product. There’s a nice base of green tea to the mix, followed by some honey flavor before finally being sweetened with sucralose and ace-K. The finish is a bit too acidic and there’s a touch of sweetener aftertaste, but it’s better than many of the products out there today. Packaging is a fully wrapped 20 oz. PET, which has been given a busy looking set of graphics. We’re not fans of fully wrapping tea bottles (there’s no way to whet the palate) and the branding that they’ve chosen seems random (what exactly does Tribe mean?). That said, this seems like a product that will perform best as a value brand, which, unfortunately, probably leaves this brand struggling to be cheaper than the already low priced mainstream brands. Overall, we think the concept and execution needs work. Reviewed on: 6/16/2011
