Troop Fuel

Manufacturer's Brand Overview [Edit]

TroopFuel is the only health and energy drink which has at its core, philanthropic interests. As a company we have goals which go beyond the beverage business; the camouflage and military font are not merely for looks rather it represents our commitment to remembering our nation’s military. As such, 10% of our profits supports accredited Veterans charities such as The National Guard Emergency Relief Fund, Wheelers4Warriors, Wounded Warrior Project (via our participation in the Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association) and our own 501(c)(3) Foundation, Troop Vision.

BevNET Review: Troop Fuel is an energy drink which features a military theme and supports a charitable organization, known as Troop Vision, that seeks to help reduce veteran homelessness. As far as the product itself goes, it features a sweet and syrupy body that has one of those energy drink flavors that feels familiar, but isn’t a copycat of another drink. That said, it’s definitely a formulation that a drinker of one of the big brands could pick up and enjoy. Functionally, the drink contains, caffeine, taurine, coenzyme Q10, milk thistle, folic acid, B vitamins, vitamin C, and glucuronolactone. Packaging, which is a slim 12 oz. can, has an in-your-face military theme that utilizes a camouflage backdrop. While there are charitable intentions behind the drink, you’ll have to go onto their website to find out what it’s all about (even then, it’s not that easy to find). Making this more obvious would make the drink feel more genuine, whereas right now the “we support our troops” feels simply like a marketing ploy. And at this point, with a growing number of energy drinks & shots that claim to support the military, we think it’s important for Troop Fuel to communicate its intentions better. Furthermore, adding some sort of personality to the brand would be helpful in creating a product that is memorable to the consumer. Overall, it’s a good start and we appreciate their intentions, but the visual look of the product can definitely stand to be improved.Reviewed on: 4/6/2012
