Review: Matcha Latte

Of the three Super Blends that TumericALIVE released in late 2014/early 2015, this one is probably the closest in flavor to one of its classic varieties. Specifically, the blend of matcha, which is powdered whole leaf green tea, and turmeric creates something that allows for much more flavor coming from the latter ingredient. This isn’t meant to be a negative, but more a comment on the differentiation of this flavor from the other two Super Blends. What it does have in common with the Mexican Chocolate and Bullet Brew Turkish Coffee is the use of hemp milk and coconut milk, which gives the product its milky base. In terms of dairy-free beverages, this seems like a great blend, and it definitely works wonders for this flavor. Beyond that, the product has a light level of sweetness from added raw honey, while sea salt, cardamom, ginger and vanilla round out the flavor profiles. If there’s any criticism of this product, it’s in the calorie count, which, at 280 per bottle, makes it close to a meal replacement than a standard beverage. Making this more clear on the front panel would be a good thing. Otherwise, we really like the look of the product and definitely feel as though this is a great addition to the lineup.
