BevNET Review: Having tried several of the Unity Vibration flavored kombuchas, we’re left wondering why anyone would want to drink this variety. It’s not that it’s bad (it’s actually quite good), but the flavors offer another level of complexity that’s not found in this product. There’s not too much fermented flavor to it, leaving a hefty amount of sweetness to the mix. The name, “Plain,” is also a tougher sell over the more appealing names of the fruit flavors. That said, this product might make a good option for those consumers who want to add their own flavor or are new to kombucha (this product is still much more drinkable than just about any other straight kombucha that we’ve had). Overall, Unity Vibration’s Plain Kombucha is good, but it is unfortunately stuck in the shadows of their outstanding fruit flavors. Reviewed on: 9/21/2011

BevNET Review: Thanks to its spice, ginger has proven to be one of the better flavors to pair with kombucha’s fermented flavor. For Unity Vibration’s Pineapple Ginger, which uses real ginger juice, this is no exception. The addition of pineapple helps keep the heat of the ginger in check, while also providing a nice fruity note to the finish. Unlike some of the other brands out there, this product is raw and features live kombucha, which may result in alcohol content greater than 0.5 percent. On the packaging, you’ll find both a nutrition panel and a government warning on alcohol, which is certainly not something we’re used to seeing. In any event, this USDA Organic product is top notch, with a super-premium, wholesome vibe to what’s inside and on the outside of the bottle. On the packaging front, the product comes in both 12 oz. and 25 oz. formats. The design of the package is definitely standout amongst other kombuchas. It is clean and polished, while still feeling like something that is artisanal and handmade. Overall, this is a must try if you are a kombucha fan.Reviewed on: 9/21/2011

BevNET Review: As the name states, this variety of Unity Vibration Kombucha is flavored with pear juice and mint. These two flavors help keep the fermented flavor of the kombucha in check, while also providing complementary flavors that add to the drink’s complexity. If there’s anything we’d like to see changed about this product, it’s the level of mint flavor -- we’d love a bit more. This beverage is live, raw, and organic, which means that it has all of the probiotics and other kombucha benefits intact. However, it also means that the product might have alcohol content greater than 0.5 percent, which is why it has a government alcohol warning. Otherwise, the design of the product is quite appealing, with a colorful and playful theme to the label. The product is available in both 12 and 25 oz. bottles, both of which have a polished feel. Overall, this is a very enjoyable product, but increasing the mint flavor just a bit would improve the experience for us.Reviewed on: 9/21/2011

BevNET Review: Unity Vibration’s Grapefruit Kombucha takes handmade kombucha and combines it with cane juice, black tea, and fresh grapefruit juice. The resulting blend is as amazing as it sounds, with a very fresh and potent grapefruit flavor providing a nice backdrop for the kombucha. In fact, the vinegary flavor that often accompanies kombucha is almost nonexistent. That said, this product is definitely a great place to start if you are new to kombucha. Regardless, this product is extremely well balanced and flavorful, making it our favorite kombucha formulation to date. On the outside, the bottle (which is available in both 12 oz. and 25 oz. formats) looks and feels like an earthy, good-for-you product. The colorful label is fun and youthful, while the text is whimsical but easy to read. Overall, as far as fruit infused kombuchas go, this is the best we’ve had. Reviewed on: 9/21/2011

BevNET Review: While this is definitely an alcoholic beverage (it’s 8 percent ABV), Unity Vibration’s Ginger Kombucha Beer still feels very much like a kombucha product. So, we decided to give it a try for the purposes of a BevNET review -- and we’re really glad that we did. This open air fermented and bottle conditioned product is the most complex flavored kombucha that we’ve ever tried, blending notes of kombucha, ginger, sugar, and hops into a formulation that is perfectly balanced. Despite having a rather high ABV, the product does not have a boozy flavor and it drinks much more like a kombucha than a beer (there’s really no beer flavor). That’s fine by us -- it still feels very much like a good for you product (which is what it’s supposed to be). The packaging, which is a 22 oz. “bomber” with a foil wrapped crown top, feels like a super premium craft product. The label design is very well done, especially when considering the rest of the kombucha category. It’s both visually appealing and easy to read, key things when it comes to beverage packaging.
