BevNET Review:
V&V Energy's Berry flavored energy drink is trying to succeed at what very few have been able to do. Specifically, they’re making a product that looks, feels, and tastes like a CSD – and a high-end one, at that -- and are marketing it as an energy drink. As a super premium CSD, this product is extremely drinkable, with cane sugar sweetening its fruity flavor. What V&V is banking on is that the word "ENERGY" (which is prominently featured on the label) will prove to be a function that consumers understand and want to purchase, even at the higher price point that this package and formulation will undoubtedly command. The big question is whether fans of boutique sodas will want energy functionality with a CSD – we don’t know that the market is there yet. But it does taste like a great soda, as well, without much energy taste despite the standard pack of energy ingredients. Overall, a very drinkable carbonated drink that has the value add of functionality.
